22nd Street Coffee Stroll
Pumpkin Spice Latte and Alfajores from Ikon Coffee on 22nd Street in Potrero Hill.
The Dogpatch/Potrero Hill 22nd Street Coffee Stroll
If you live in Dogpatch or lower Potrero Hill you know we are blessed with numerous coffee shops for our daily cup of joe or matcha with many of them clustered on 22nd street.
Here is a look at our favorite items to order at each spot.
Located in the Knox condo complex in Potrero Hill at 22nd and Mississippi, this bright and airy space attracts the laptop crowd as well as commuters heading to the nearby train station.
Ikon roasts their own beans and offers a selection of breakfast pastries and lunch items.
They are known for their pumpkin spice latte which bears no resemblance to the one from that Seattle company. Give it a try any time of year — no need to wait until November.
Classic Cannoli and Nutella Latte at La Stazione near the 22nd Street Caltrain Station in Dogpatch.
As we head into Dogpatch our next stop is an OG favorite, La Stazione. The speed of the baristas in making your order is unmatched among all the coffee shops. Good thing since their spot is located steps from the 22nd street train station making it a good choice if you left yourself five minutes to catch your train but still need that hit of caffeine.
Don’t miss out on their famous cannoli. We are partial to their Cannoli Original but they have other offerings including pistachio, chocolate, and almond. Pair that with their Nutella Latte and your day just got a lot brighter. La Stazione features coffee roasted by Dogpatch resident, Sami Jassim of PTO Coffee.
Mocha and morning bun at CoffeeShop at 22nd Street and Minnesota Street in Dogpatch.
A relative newcomer to Dogpatch, CoffeeShop opened on the corner of 22nd and Minnesota in 2024. As one of the few coffee spots that offer ample seating inside and out, this place is busy throughout the day with workers holding zoom meetings sharing space with toddlers and dogs with their parents.
CoffeeShop also roasts their own beans. They also bake their baked goods right at this location. We usually opt for their morning bun and delicious mocha.
Señora Bread and Mocha from Piccino Coffee Bar on 22nd Street in Dogpatch.
This coffee spot in Dogpatch has been a favorite of locals since 2006. Their hard to miss yellow building is a beacon directing us to order coffee and pastries.
And don’t pass on those pastries created by James Beard nominated pastry chef Vince Bugtong. His señora bread is a favorite as is the banana muffin. The coffee bar features coffee from Oakland roaster, Bassline Coffee.
We often begin our day at the coffee bar and finish the day having dinner at Piccino Restaurant. Not a bad way to begin and end the day.
Biscuit Smash, Breakfast Sandwich and Rosemary Honey Latte from Breadbelly on 22nd Street in Pier 70, Dogpatch.
There was much excitement when Breadbelly announced it would open in Building 12 at Pier 70. In 2025 they finally opened and the wait was worth it.
While their Kaya Toast is a darling of Instagram, we primarily wait in line for their breakfast sandwiches and we are slowly working our way down their list. Favorites include their classic breakfast sandwich as well as the biscuit smash. They also put an unusual spin on their coffee drinks — on our last visit we enjoyed their rosemary honey latte.
Hope you enjoyed our coffee stroll down 22nd Street!
